Hi there! I’m Stephen. I’m a web developer at DocuSign, Inc. in Seattle. I love what I do, plain and simple. I’ve been working professionally on the web for the past 5 years, writing code, architecting servers, and creating easy to use applications.

Both my career and my lifestyle come down to one simple thing. I like to create. Whether it be from scratch or completely transforming something to make it new. I’ve built everything from small JavaScript canvas applications to entire MVC frameworks in PHP or Node.js. I’ve been doing this since before I could drive, and I enjoy it more every day.

Currently working at DocuSign as a Web Developer, my day consists of tasks like rebuilding an eCommerce engine, developing ad campaign forms, to analyzing and implementing major bug fixes in the course of 5 minutes.

The biggest factor in all of this is a drive for that feeling of accomplishment; the one you get when you create something from nothing. There isn’t anything like it and it’s what pushes me to create new usable and accessible applications for the web.

Responsible for web development and maintenance on all non-SaaS sites.

• Improved ease of purchase, sign up, and upgrade processes for DocuSign accounts on the web through Social network integration and easier routing to upgrading your account.
• Created promotional plan tool within e-commerce engine allowing for promotional plan provision and sale.
• Created many web tools to be used by sales representatives and other DocuSign staff. Most notable, a Demo Creator which allows the creation of an elegant web demo in a matter of minutes.
• Built in-depth lead tracking and nurturing into the site, allowing constant communication with Salesforce.com.

Roles and Achievments

Responsible for web development and design of all 32 school sites, K-12, as well as many other district applications.

• Played a major role in creating a content management system that allowed teachers and other staff to easily manage their own school site, calendar and individual teacher pages.
• Helped to train each school on site use and management to generate greatest use and knowledge of the system.
• Developed Email List Server application which allowed for prospective PSD employees to be notified of new job openings as soon as they came out.
• Handled all communication to incoming web site requests and bugs by PSD faculty.
